Time for the dyno.

Recommended Posts

310hp, 325tq if running premium 91+.

330hp, 360tq if running e85.

Educated guess since I'm running basically the same setup. However, every dyno is different.

Well I'll be headed to the dyno Sunday for my tune.

2016 5.3L 6-speed.

Texas Speed longtubes, off-road y pipe, MIT Intake tube, and the custom tune.

I'm hoping for at least 330 to the wheels...anyone wanna guess?

Sounds about right 330 or 340 to the wheels. Keep us posted here

Here are my numbers, stock, 91 tune, e85. 5.3L.

This is prior to headers.

266hp 287tq - stock

296hp 321tq - tuned on 91 octane

323hp 358tq - tuned on e85

332hp 362tq - tuned on e85 with headers

As you can see, the max numbers with headers wasn't a huge increase, but there were gains of 15 or so across the full curve.

Well this is from a dyno jet and the numbers were down really.

Max Power 293.99

Max Torque 321.98.

Today was a hot muggy Alabama day and I went straight on the dyno after driving a hour.

The air Inlet temp was a tad over 120 degrees and in the shop it was 98 degrees with 90% humidty.

Truck runs very very strong though.

Thanks for posting.

Not bad at all, just a tad under my guess. Probably heat related.

What kind of gas you running?

  • 3 weeks later...

$650 for headers & a tune has to be at least $3-400. $1000 for 10-15 hp. Is it worth it? Which Texas headers would be better, off road y pipe for more power or the catted Y pipe for emissions? Of course I have emissions in my county but I think they just plug into the OBD to scan.

10-15 was headers only gain. Headers and tune is well worth $1k for the hp, tq, and drivability gains.

Yea. I'm thinking of doing the same setup as you guys. How about the E85 route. Do you always use it or go back & forth between E85 & 91?

I run e85 almost all the time. I'm running 91 this month, just to gauge MPGs vs e85.
