Looks like a post I made never actually posted:

 

Congrats, I have had a few 1st Gens, if there is anything you are curious about regarding the history of the car post the VIN and a Picture of the trim tag over at Team Camaros. They well help you with mechanic quirks you may have now or later also. A lot of well versed guys over there, they saved my bacon from buying a fairly well faked 69 SS. Supposedly the full drivetrain matched a SS 350, but the trim tag had a flaw from being faked they caught in a pic before I drove down to get it.

excellent...ive actually been looking for a camaro/chevy forum. I wasnt even born when this car came out so i do have a lot to learn but im loving every minute of it. I totally value the knowledge base thats in forums and how helpful people are. thanks

It's pretty interesting there. There are guys that track Camaros, the literally browse cars for sale and record advertised info, then compare to any records they already have. It's a shame how corrupted the market has become. You'll have guys selling a Camaro that isn't what they think it is(they were "had" by the guy that sold it to them), and they get angry and refuse to believe that their car isn't what they think it is.
