Hello all,

A few weeks ago I bought a 2001 chevy 1500. It has the 5.3 and it is 4x4 with the z71 package. It's got 130k on it and i'm hoping its got lots of life left in it. Yesterday I merged onto the interstate when all of a sudden my check engine soon light came on. Immediately it started running VERY poorly. I made it most of the way home before I called it quits and got my dads pickup and car trailer and trailered it home. While on the interstate after it through the light on, I couldn't hardly hold any speed. It was legitimately foot to the floor or nothing. You had to practically force it to downshift and it had no power to hold speed. Today after work I read the codes with my OBD II scanner. I got the following codes:

p0131-O2 sensor circuit low voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

p0151-O2 Sensor circuit low voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

p0446-EVAP emission control system vent circuit malfunction

I took and gently blew out the EVAP vent and got all the dirt and crap out. I cleared the codes. Took it down the road. Check engine light is off. 1 mile later it is back on. I pull codes. O2 codes are back, but the EVAP code is gone. At this point i'm totally lost. It makes no sense to me that BOTH my upstream O2 sensors go bad at the same time.... PLEASE HELP!!!!

"Going out", in the case of an o2 sensor is more like "getting lazy" and not responding correctly to the oxygen levels in the exhaust. It is very possible that an o2 sensor isn't reading correctly but still functioning enough to not trigger the MIL.
