Honda Ridgeline Weighs In On Which Bed Material Is Toughest - Video

Can't knock them at all. Cool to see that they responded quick to GM vs. Ford on the bed issue. What's funny is, for those that recall, GM had a composite box at one point, the famed PROTEC Box. Essentially, a Saturn paneled pickup box. Too bad GM had back luck...http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/08/when-gm-couldnt-think-outside-the-box-remembering-pro-tec/ It was even 50lbs lighter over a standard steel box too! Maybe GM will return to composites for such an application...Corvette is a full composite bodied 200mph sports car, why not have a 7000lbs payload composite box?

so this honda is calling us a pile of bricks.

may as well cram all in the same box.

but they did in this video..

my 96 gmc cracked the frame, broke a gas strap, tire crossmember, all cross sills, a rear bumper (going for a third), shock mount..

all with rhino lining on a rust free bed..after all that.

I even welded new sills in without boiling off the rhino stuff.

that is just one maker of poly something miracles.

they are just going to embarrass themselves with these comparisons.

how about a load shift in a unibody full of sliding rocks..

oh. my back.

ridiculous.

One thing I'm seeing as a (now) Honda owner is their vehicles get a extremely loyal following, but in a very different sense than GM does. Go check it out yourself on a Honda site if you don't believe me.

Example:

On this site there are many people who want a new GM because their old one is falling apart.

On Honda sites, anyone with a lemon/bad Honda is saying "farewell, I'm done", and the other owners say "if I had your experience, I'd be gone too."

Honda knows this, their loyalist are loyal because they make solid machines, but don't blindly follow.

I don't know how many "bought a non GM truck" posts I've seen lately, so I'm not sure I agree with that analysis.

Everytime I hit "new content" there almost always is a post about someone selling their GM for a non-GM product due to issues. Just did it before this post and I saw "traded GMC for ford" and "traded" lol

I think some people do it just to be a troll and start sh*t. I don't mind someone on here that doesn't have a GM anymore as long as they can contribute to the forum. But, if all they're going to do is bash GM then go bitch somewhere else. It's one thing to say something negative that happened to them which can be helpful because nothing is perfect. So I'm not saying everything you say has to be positive or good. I just mean the people that just talk trash just to talk it and never says anything to contribute positively.
