Running Board LED Lights

Recommended Posts

Are you running 1 continuous strip or 2 separate strips per side?

Looks like you could bend that angle to make the strips hit the step more and still keep them hidden.

I have 2 led strips per side. If you have one long strip it would still work. Just get a piece as long as you need it. Cut around where ever you would need and it wouldn't affect its integrity or anything. I could definitely bend it to achieve a better angle, but it's not a big deal to me. The wife can still see where she's stepping just fine

I used a truck bed LED kit on mine and they came out pretty good, bright too. Overall, I like it, I only wish you couldn't see them from the side.

After driving through these flood waters from Harvey, my lights in the middle starting turning yellow. So I emailed the company and told them and they sent me a brand new set, no questions asked. Still haven't put them on yet though.

You can't see my led strips from any angle unless you're laying under my truck8e74074e19ce16ccd10c48b868c53a0f.jpg9b1373983a1117ec78edce9405defbfd.jpg6877560a1c96f400052d2e6509fd8b32.jpg

Thanks...and just to confirm you don’t have the lights attached to the running boards? The lights are attached to the actual truck?

Yes they on the truck. Look for my previous posts in this thread and I show how I did it.

I did mine mine so it is not vissible and it still hits the top of the step. I don't think it will fall off in the Michigan winter because I used 3m trim tape... only a few more months to see.

Well,  we are just in the start of winter and both of my lights have quit working. I'll have to put it in the garage, let it thaw and see what failed.

SO DID THIS SAME EXACT SETUP FOR WIRING WITH A-PILLAR AND GROUNDING WIRE TO TRUCK AND NO POWER...ANY TROUBLESHOOTING HELP?? THANKS IN ADVANCE...
Hey sorry I just noticed this. I had the same no power issue and couldn't figure out out for about a week...I tried connecting at a few different proven spots. Then I pulled out a multimeter and saw that the ground I was using wasn't working. I moved my prong on the multimeter to another bolt and I immediately had power. I used that as my ground and was good to go. Hopefully this helps if you haven't completed it yet
