That is what I am doing with the 2001. Being down south it has no rust. I have the parts to replace the entire front suspension, already replaced the water pump, belts, spark plugs and have an appointment for a new paint job. She has 308000 miles on her and I bought it new. Plan on keeping it till I die. At least i will have one that I can work on and is not completely dependant on a computer.

So the weight-saving aluminum eco-boosted trucks do what? Get the same or less MPG than the 5.3 8sp I bought?
