Max tire size for non-lifted?

Recommended Posts

My apologies if this has been asked before. I could not find it in a search. Perhaps I was looking for the wrong wording? If so, direction to it is appreciated.

What I am trying to find out is if anyone knows the max tires size that will fit a 2015 Silverado LTZ Z71 without rubbing. With the stock 18" rims (and or the stock 20" High Country rims?)

The truck is not lifted yet. (Really wanting to do the Rocky Ridge Callaway SC480 conversion but that is proving to be a headache just trying to get information).

Anyway, I am currently running the stock I believe 265/65/R18's still. I may buy a set of High Country 20's if I can find a good set for a reasonable price. That will come later though if I do that.

So, what fits? to fill out the wheel well and not rub in the interim?

Thanks in advance

So, after looking into the size info you gave.

The stock tire --- 265/65/R18

31.6" Tall

(6.8" wheel to edge of tire)

10.4" Wide

99.1" Circumference

The 275/70/R18

33.2" Tall

10.8" Wide

(7.6" wheel to edge of tire)

104.1" Circumference

Thank you for the info, gives me something to look forward to.

275/70R18 will fit on stock suspension with no rubbing or trimming.

This is good to hear. I wonder why most levelling kits say that they will accommodate a 33" tire when your truck will function properly without any modification? What about fully loaded? Maybe that would be an issue.

I believe it's their way of a CYA. Also from what I've been able to tell with these trucks it's not so much tire height that limits the user it's tire width.

From what I have read previously, tire width is one of the major concerns as you state. The size tire that was mentioned earlier is pretty close to the OEM width. So, I am hoping there won't be any problems in that regard when I do go to try them out. My only other concern is the angles for control arms that may be affected... and how far I could go if I were to do the adjustable on front and rear in conjunction and any possible issues.
