obd 1 codes 33, 45 fix

Recommended Posts

I started getting these 2 codes 33 & 45 on my 88 Cheyenne 4.3... After seeing that the codes referred to rough idle and running rich.. Check what could be the cause and it came down to the MAP sensor. I found the vacuum line disconnected, but when I tried to reinsert it in the rubber boot it was extremely loose and would not stay. So I removed it and tried a couple of different things to no effect. Then wife suggested plumbers tape, so I tried it making several wraps on the tube and then shoved it into the rubber boot. It stayed so hooked it back up and it cleared the codes and so far is holding. Nothing like thinking out of the box even if it came from the wife....
