Muhs hope your issue gets resolved. I have no doubt it's the torque converter that is causing the shudder you feel. It happens under light throttle application between 1400-1600 rpms or so. My issue was finally resolved but took both a new converter and after a change to synthetic fluid per a TSB that came out later.

Thanks! I hope I do get it resolved. As a show of how much i like the rest of the truck i ordered two sets of Bilstein 5100's this afternoon

I think my torque converter one of my issues as well. Doesn't matter what you think. If they "can't find anything wrong" with it then NOTHING is going to get repaired

Just got a call from the service adviser and they said that they were checking to see if there is another 8 digit software update code and the truck only gives them the option to enter one digit of the 8 digit code... so now they need to pass this up to GM tech or whatever. are they idiots? am i an idiot? am i crazy? her words were we want to make sure that its not the TC shudder and check and see if there is a problem with the engine control module and the transmission control module not communicating before we give it back to you. did they just "brick" my truck? this is almost funny its pissing me off so much. oh and i forgot to mention ive had problems with this truck from within the first 3 months. after roughly 3 months of ownership it had to go into the shop 4 times for blowing fuel injectors, first the shop (in wisconsin) tried to blame me using non top tier gas. i told them to go shove it. after going in for the same problem of lunching fuel injectors 3 more times they replaced the ENTIRE fuel system which seemed to have fixed that specific problem. i was within a week of lemon lawwing the vehicle. :bs:

Thanks! I am expecting a call from them sometime this morning. I won't hold my breath... Trouble is I work in Ft. Myers and my truck is at the dealership in naples where I live so it makes it tough to go down there and really raise he11 because i have to be at work...

I hadn't looked at this topic in a long time.

When I bought my 2015 6.2 8A it had a huge 2-1 downshift bang.

It had about 2k miles when I brought it to the dealer and they did some GMC software updates and the problem was resolved.

I now have a little over 17k miles and had forgotten I had even had that problem!

Hopefully those that continue to have 8A problems are able to get a dealer that stays updated and is able to resolve the problems.

I think that this is a great truck!

If they replace the TC do they also replace this Stator Shaft that others have talked about? Seems like that is also a problem?

just got a call from the SA. said they did some sort of adaptive relearn for the tranny and that there was some incorrect software loaded into the transfer case. correct me if im wrong but the transfer case is only utilized to engage 4 wheel drive... we shall see if this works and if it doesnt ive already spoken with another dealership who is very familiar with the issues surrounding the torque converter. i will keep everybody updated.

Mine was totally solved with the software update -no parts were replaced.

Nothing is going to fix the shudder issue but a torque converter! I would have lost it on the dealership if I was you. It's simple, the bulletin explains it very clearly, many converters have been replaced due to this problem and I have yet to hear that it didn't fix the shudder. My dealership was doing 3 others the same week they replaced mine. It's not rocket science. Replace converter... Problem solved. They sound like a bunch of loons. I would definitely take it to another dealership.

update: seems to drive ok but i swear i still feel like its slipping a little bit at steady state throttle and i feel that the only people who know what I'm talking about are those who have experienced it. Ill give it a few days and report back. the downshifting coming to a stop is way better but I'm not sure if thats because the truck is back in its learn mode... any help here guys?

What exactly is this "shudder" that everyone is talking about? Is it during shift points or is it while in any gear during acceleration? Also this vibration that iim hearing about in some. Is it a real noticeable vibration that feels like a tire balance issue or worse?
