i took my truck in on Saturday. the trans tech doesn't work on Saturdays but they said that since this was the third time i was coming into the shop and mentioned a transmission issue they were aware of my vehicle. i mentioned that at times it was like driving over rumble strips and the service manager said yup. we dont even need to drive it it sounds like a torque converter, were going to replace that for you. they didn't even need to drive it! i was very surprised. i guess they are ordering the part today and will install it as soon as it comes in. aside from that they are doing the 25K service. is there anything special that they do on a 25K check?

so after being told on saturday that they were going to replace it they had the trans tech drive for "20" miles and he could not replicate the problem... I wanted to trough my phone! i told her look i am not making this stuff up and this is what she told me, "well if you feather the throttle the transmission and engine computer can't talk to each other and that will cause it to judder" i was very polite and told her that i do not believe it. :bs: what a crappy piece of engineering... at this point IDK what I'm going to do. I'm not made of money and really wanted to keep this truck for a long time.

What is the next step here guys? I'm not crazy and this is really starting to piss me off.

My exact same situation. Get the lube out because GM is handing out a good ass rape for 8 speed owners.

I'd force them to replace the Torque Converter!! They know of the issue with them being bad... My dealer replaced mine at 4500 miles and my problem solved right away! Now have 10k on it and not a single problem since. Still shifts hard at times but not as often and the shutter/shake has never returned! I still have a very mild vibration at different times but I have no doubt it is from the junk factory tires. So I'll deal with that this summer.

My dealer is Dave Keil in Mechanicsburg, Ohio and the service manager is Paul.

VERY SMART MAN

http://gm.oemdtc.com/6597/pip5337e-shake-or-shudder-on-acceleration-excessive-engine-rpm-fluctuation-between-30-and-65-mph-2015-2016-cadillac-chevrolet-gmc.. Print this off and take it with you. Tell them this is exactly your problems and obviously Gm knows it's a problem. If they say they must duplicate it tell them to put a tech in the truck and y'all will drive as long as it takes to duplicate. I had mine replaced at 700 miles and couldn't get it to shudder with the tech on our 15 minute ride but they still replaced my converter and done a flush and filter change. No problems since at 3k miles now.

Thanks Stingray. I actually have this printed off right now. The service adviser said that they would call me this morning to come and pick it up. No call. I called them an hour ago and left a message for my SA. If/when she does call me back I will email her this document and the link and get them to take a harder look at it. i want to tear my hair out. Do you think it matters that mine is a 5.3 not a 6.2?

From what I've been told it has nothing to do wether it's 5.3 or 6.2. It's all the 8 speeds. Good luck.

I also have the 8 speed that shifts terrible . Very harsh, rough shifts. Yes I have had in in for service twice at two different dealers. There is nothing they can do to fix it.

It doesn't matter what you tell them or what bulletins etc you show them. They cannot and will not fix it. You have to pick your battles and this is one battle I will not win.

It's in the shop now for a rough idle and driveline vibration that I get on the interstate between 70-80 mph. Been in the shop for over a week. Got a call on day two saying they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Haven't head anything from the dealership in almost a week. Have no idea what's going on they won't answer the phone or return calls.

BTW they gave me a cheesy little Chevy Cruze as a loaner. That thing is 1000% smoother than my truck!! Smooth idle, smooth shifts, rock solid driving down the interstate. I saw the window sticker it was 21k. My truck was over 51k.

Thinking about looking at some Fords or maybe a Tundra, but I know I'll take a huge hit on depreciation and I don't know if I can swing that.

i have a chevy malibu as a loaner and i was thinking the same thing. remarkable how smooth it shifts! makes me want to go all carrie underwood on my truck and leave it on GM's front doorstep....

Muhs hope your issue gets resolved. I have no doubt it's the torque converter that is causing the shudder you feel. It happens under light throttle application between 1400-1600 rpms or so. My issue was finally resolved but took both a new converter and after a change to synthetic fluid per a TSB that came out later.
