I have considered air bags but truck works well as is, but may revisit in the future

it is also an NHT truck so the GVW is 7,900 and tow rated for 12,500

Nice, should have guessed that you might have the Max Tow Package. Do you have tow mirrors? That's the only thing I'm lacking that I wish I had. My truck/TT works well with my current weight distribution hitch too. It's just a pain to hook up bars and chains, getting old and have back problems. Anyway, I'll make a post after I have the air Lift package installed and make a tow with it.

The mirrors really are sweet, no one can hide along side of you and the backup lighting is excellent.

I use a Blue Ox wd hitch and electric jack makes hook and unhook easy.

But the 6.2 / 8spd is the icing on the cake towing, better than most 3/4 ton i've used

I watched a utube demo of your Blue Ox being hooked up. It's definitely an easier procedure than my hitch. I also have an electric jack but still have to use a 2' lever to apply the right tension on the chains and wd bars. Going to give some thought to buying the Blue Ox. Also agree with your comment that the 6.2/8 spd is the icing on the cake. Effortless worry free towing for sure. When heading out, I pop my Dr Pepper, open my package of Cheetos, get out on the interstate, put in my Willy Nelson On The Road Again CD, set my cruise and enjoy the trip. Love it :) !

2016 6.2 HighCountry. Tranny is nice until it needs a gentle downshift and then it does is hard. Here in the mountains the best way to drive it is in Tow Mode as it keeps it in gear. Good part is if you need to hammer it or tow it, no problems.

So far I like it. Seems like it's learned my driving pretty well but I still only have 700 miles on it.

Same with me, different expiernce seeing the tac moving that much.

I know at 79mph my truck is only showing 1800rpm, which I have not seen below 2200 rpm in a very long time at that speed.

So after much deliberations I have decided to go with another 1500 6.2 8 speed for same reasons I did in first place. Don't really need it and corvette powered 1500 is just awesome. I can't see getting 2 bad ones but we'll see. It's such a smooth nice riding quiet truck. It pulls like a diesel and gets good fuel mileage . I ordered new 2017 in dark slate slt fully loaded.

Nice choice! I'm biased though. How long will it take?

They said 4 to 6 weeks but I'm not in a rush. Still have my clunking 16 to drive for the mean time . I would rather it get salted this winter than new one. They did also say they would expedite the build to move things along. Either way got my fingers crossed with another 8 speed.

2017 5.3 and 1500 miles now with great shift improvement. The only way ill get a hard shift is if in the morning driving out of my driveway i accelerate suddenly. So I typically cruise my way out park to close the gate and when then i can accelerate away with no problem.

I love mine, 2016 Sierra SLT with 5.3. First 3k miles were a little rough at times but at just under 5k it's now smoothed out.

Very rarely when the truck first starts up and you put it in gear it does a funny thing where it feels like the torque converter won't lock up. When pulling out of the garage (in drive, not on the gas at all) the truck barely wants to move, usually it will roll right out just idling. If I touch the gas at all it takes off kind of like you're "dumping the clutch" for lack of better ways to describe it. The problem goes away within a few seconds and doesn't happen often enough for me to really be concerned about it.

My 2016 with the 6.2 does this same exact thing. Like it doesn't know I put it in drive. I've learned to just wait a few seconds before I try to drive off. Guess I dont always need to be in a hurry. Other than that, every once in a while if I let off and then gas it it will "hunt" for a gear but nothing loud or terrible. Overall I really like mine.

Seems like the ones that are A-OK act like this? It's all 100% tune/programming etc! The only way out is BlackBear! I must get BlackBear!
