Just wondering how do I tell if my truck can run on E85?

I hope you are not serious.

If you buy the e85 conversion kit from CJtunes.com and enable the Flex fuel sensor using a tuner software such as HP tuners of EFI Live you can. Carl can set you up with everything you need to run e85 including the tune.

That's great, but some people on this board I've noticed lack common sense. So telling someone to put a yellow gas cap on their truck means they can run e85 isn't the best advice to provide. I would hate to see someone actually follow your advice and end up wrecking stuff.

I was aware he was being a smart ass. I also am aware of it having to do with fuel system changes.

I was thinking it was standard anymore to have it flex fuel, my 2011 was and thought this would be too.

I was thinking it was standard anymore to have it flex fuel, my 2011 was and thought this would be too.

Its not a matter of "fuel system changes" but that GM no longer wanted to spend the money to include on every single truck and figured if the consumer wanted it they can pay for it. The two options are order the truck with it when you buy it, or add it after the fact and get the truck tuned.

All you are adding is a flex sensor that reads the fuel as it passes through to adjust the computers parameters based on octane I believe ( could be other factors as well).
