I own a 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 with 226K miles. Runs and drives and blows cold air. Original 5.7 liter engine and transmission.

However, I am wondering why I see so many Chevys and GMCs with malfunctioning lights; turn signal lights, backup lights, brake lights... must be light bulbs from China. Why so many failed light bulbs?

Has anyone else noticed that.

for one, trucks since the dawn of trucks hate incandescent.

bouncing tungsten filaments..

LED swapping has some good answers.

the old double filaments are the monsters.

there is also newer electronic flasher that feels out what is needed.

I dropped at least 40 amps.. now all led.

the headlamps have an air moving purpose to stay old. I keep them the last of the hot bulbs.
