Those fires are wreaking havoc. Living in California for a number of years, I remember being caught on the highway and having to drive through a firestorm. Temps rose from 60 to 120 degrees in just a few seconds. When California has out of controls fires, we use the Supertankers, "rented from Canada". I don’t see any Supertankers used in the Canadian fires, what gives?

To be honest I am not sure why our governments didn't call on the large tankers to help with this fire. My guess is maybe something to do with a water source nearby?

Still, seems like more could have been done on that front.

I'm watching the news every day.

I'm sorry for the people who've lost their homes and belongings.

It's one thing, that you have to evacuate the area.
But, loosing everything and not have anything left to come back too...what a nightmare.

I think those super tankers are the British Columbia govt.s. They were busy fighting their own fires and could not send them. The big Mars Water bomber is not in use right now. their contract with the BC govt ran out. They should have gotten it!

The Evergreen 747 supertanker has had some issues. Here's some info on it. But as of right now, the new 747-400 supertanker (used but replaces the old 747-100 :( is on the ground at KCOS (Colorado Springs) awaiting final certification.
