Fast forward a year and half and I have just added the following upgrades:

BDS 6" lift with block option. No add a leaf or spacers. No rubbing or trimming.

Toyo Open Country Rugged Terrain 35x12.50r20

AMP Research Power Steps

Here are photos of the lift. Need to add some pictures of the steps.

First one is before and after. Photos show that the tires do not stick out much. No rubbing our trimming required.

Great looking truck, how is the G4 holding up for you? Watertight? Any fading on the top or vibration at higher speeds?

Thanks! The cover has been excellent. It does not bounce around, no fading or rust. The water stays out in snow and rain. If you pressure wash your truck, then you will have water in the bed afterwards. The place that I go to have my truck cleaned hand washes and doesn't blast water in the back. If you take it through a car wash tunnel, then it gets pretty wet. I take it in the rain and snow up in the Sierras 2x per month and have 24k miles on it, it still looks and works as it did new. I do garage my truck at home and work, so someone who keeps their truck out 24/7 might have a different result.

I decided to pull off the front valance last night. With the lift and tires, it's not likely doing much for me on MPG, I also like the look of it off. It shows off the skid plate and exposes more of the tires. I also put on a stubby antenna. Which is useless. Doesn't work. Will be sending it back and trying something else. The stock antenna gets caught on everything since I lifted it. Pic is before and after valance (both after lift).

Just bought a 10" Rockford Fosgate 500 Watt Slim Woofer and a 500 watt Rockford Fosgate Prim 500 Watt AMP. I'm modifying a prefabricated box that is for 2014+ Crew Cabs when running two subs. I only want to run 1 10" to enhance the Bose system. I've had 2 12s and 2 10s in other cars and don't need all that bass! It will be a down firing box under the single back seat that folds up. This way I still have the storage under the rest of the seats. I will post pictures when it's installed next week.

Here are a few pics of the finished product (need to do a little cleaning up). I did not take pics of the process... the shop owner let me hang out and oversee some of the work. The dash came out, the backseats came out and the storage tray. Bass knob is hidden under dash and out of sight (easily reachable though), the amp is hidden behind the seats next to the stock amp for Bose speaker, and the sub is under the seat and shaped to fit the contours of the truck. Everything went back in and you cannot tell it was taken out and no damage to anything. Truck sounds great!!

  • 2 weeks later...

It wasn't that particular brand of box but same concept and price point. I had the shop trim it down a bit to limit the amount of under seat storage it took away. It does make that one seat former to sit on but it's fine.

It sounds great and a 500 watt 10" sub is a nice compliment to the system. If you like a lot of bass and want the car to really thump, then go with 1 12" at higher wattage or 2 10" subs. As stated previously, I've had systems upwards of 4000watts in other cars and just don't need it or want it anymore. This 10" is plenty loud.

My boat is another story, I have multiple speakers that are 500 watts each! ;-)

Gotcha. I had 2 12's in my last silverado and I don't need that much bass, I just miss some of it. Lol. The 12" woofers I had are kind of shallow, but I need a box now. The 10" Rockford is way too tall to fit under the seat. Was it a name brand box?

Did you check out the 10" slim woofer from Rockford? That's what I have under the seat. I don't know the name brand of the box; I'd have to ask the shop. It may be on my receipt. I can check that as well.

Here's the link to the woofer: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/t1s2-10
