Heat Gun / Canned air duster dent removal????

Recommended Posts

So my son and I were out yesterday afternoon breaking in his 1st basemen mitt and he throws me a wild pitch which found the rear quarter panel of the truck just above the wheel well. It's not very deep nor creased. My question to you all, have you ever tried the heat-gun / canned air duster trick to pop out a minor dent / ding. If so, were you successful? Please see attached picture of said ding.

Personally, I'd just look up some PDR shop close to you and do it. It should be around $30 or so to pop it out. PDR = paintless dent removal

+1

When I had the windows of my dad's brand new 3500HD Denali tinted, the shop hand tried pulling it into the shop bay to start the tinting. He didn't take into account the rear fenders sticking out as far as they do and caught the bay door with the passenger side rear fender. No paint damage, just a fist size dent and peeled up the clear protectant sheet on the lower rocker panel. The tint shop paid for the PDR and now you can't even tell where the dent was. It was about $100 for the PDR at the time (this was back in 2012)
