Ac delco synthetic blend oil

Recommended Posts

Is anyone planning on sticking with the ACDelco synthetic blend oil after the free maintenance program is up? I was able to pick up a case of it really cheap. My research shows its a really good oil with a great additive package. What are your opinions on it

I haven't heard anything bad about the oil, but I wouldn't get an ACDelco oil filter though. I've read that I believe the rubber o-ring on the top of it sometimes leak, maybe if put on too tight or without putting a thin coat of oil on it before installing the filter.

My next oil change will be after the 2 year warranty is up, but I plan on using Mobil 1 full synthetic and a Mobil 1 oil filter.

Apparently my dealer forgot to mention the free services on my truck, or I didn't hear him tell me, but I've put Mobil 1 and AC filters since the very beginning on mine. So far, no issues.

Well, free is relative. After I shut my business down for a morning or afternoon to take the pickup to the dealer, 60 mile round trip, free takes on a whole new meaning. Let's see... use an oil that gets shipped to my house for free and do it myself when I get a free moment or blow $1000 to go get a "free" oil change. Tough to quantify that one!

Free oil is free oil, run it till its gone then go with good stuff.

AcDelco filters are made by the lowest bidder (Fram), buy a quality WIX filter.

I do believe GM put alot of thought into a good filter. The classics they say were great, but they found a way for it to flow more. And being a disposable part they made it environmentally friendlier to dispose of.

Fram is not necessarily a low quality filter. The Ultra line of Fram actually has been shown to be a very good filter. It is my understanding that it isn't Fram that is making AC Delco filters now, but Champion.

The 'free' oil changes are provided by GM, they dealers charge them against the serial number under warranty. They can be done at any dealer, not just at the one that the vehicle was purchased from.

Some dealers are.were providing oi changes above and beyond the GM provided ones.

Your 2015 should have a maximum of 4 'included' changes over 2 years available.
