How can GM get away with this???

Apologies my comment wasn't directed at you. Just making a general statement. I like the ride of the "p" rated tires too. Was just really disappointed at the quality or lack there of with these stock good years. : )

I believe tires on new cars and trucks are like builders grade appliances in new homes. They are meant to get you started but fail soon, or a "cheaper" grade... Also people have different opinions on how their truck should ride and handle. To each their own on tire preference.

My truck is more of a garage queen as I avoid stone roads as much as possible. I didn't spend 40K plus on a truck to go out and beat it up in the woods.

My truck is for people transport and the occasional transportation of items to big to fit the cab. Then there is the trailer for the oversize items.

Enough said, now back to polishing my new truck.

I always thought it was weird that Chevrolet put the SRA Goodyear on a z71. I would have thought they would have put on a more off-road tire on an off road truck( I do understand z71 doesn't mean a lot). But with that said I contacted Goodyear headquarters with 2500 miles on the tires and let them know what I thought of these tires. They gave me full money back on them so I could get some better tires. I than went with the Goodyear A/T adventure with Kevlar. This new tire is better in 2wd than the SRA's where in 4wd.

I agree that the SRAs are not an AT tire. Goodyear does not advertise them as such, and neither does Tire Rack - only GM calls them AT tires. All Z71 packages should come with the AT Adventure - those are decent AT tires and would be great for stock. There was some guy around here trying to start a class action lawsuit over this and some other things. I don't think he ever got anywhere.

Of course many tires (including the Goodyear SR-A series) are available in both P and LT versions.

Manufacturers are always going to install tires that suit the majority.

When they tires installed don't match the task to be done trade-em in. I've left the dealer and gone straight to the appointment at the tire shop. (most dealers will get them changed for you as well, if that method is preferred)

High speeds (40 MPH+) on gravel roads will shred a P tire. I had to build the rest of my truck around RC5 which are the LT tires

Im sorry but this statement is just not true. Shred a p rated tire - please. Over how many miles? 30,000?
