I have not heard one...But I sure want too.

I would probably buy one if they weren't so dang expensive.

20gig of songs is a lot of music, and would keep me happy on long road trips thats for sure.

I'm curious how good they are too.

I've had a casual interest.

The "lossless" support is a definite plus. I never understood why a lot of people put big monies into their rig's audio system and then just play MP3's (and think it sounds great).

The proprietary hard drive cartridge is a real turn off. Should be understood that if it's not Phat Noise or Kenwood supplied that any problems are not theirs. With that done should provide blank casings and recommended hard drive list along with formating software.

Also I don't think desktop IDE drives are that fragile anymore at well over 10G impact force rating that notebook drives are still required. 256GB drive of lossless music now there's a KEG.

I agree with you on your point of MP3s not having the clarity of a studio CD. You lose the very highs, and the very lows if you have any kind of system.

20 gig? Thats more songs than I will listen to in several months. He!!, the hardest part would be finding the one you wanted.....That, and picking out that many songs...To me, 20 gig is plenty. It would be a hassle to manage any more than that. I only have about 5g of music on the home PC, and it gets a little tedious to organize, and keep it straight.

It has its drawbacks, but nobody else out there is coming up with very many alternatives. Unless you want to plug your I-Pod into your stereo..Talk about poor sound quality.

I might get one, when they get a little more reasonably priced.
