2015 Silverado 2500HD rear axle issues

Recommended Posts

We bought our HD Brand New with the intention of having a sturdy, reliable and backed by warranty Truck. Our truck didn't make it 4,500 miles before it's scheduled oil change only to find during a family trip that the right rear brake was smoking. Into the dealership to find the Rt rear hub seal broke, would have never thought getting the seal replaced and repaired at the Chevy dealer would lead to more broken seals, replaced brakes and a turned rotor... Can you say Lemon! Anyone having issues with their trucks rearend? Our truck is now on it 3rd hub seal and now we're feeling sticking and brake slipping on the right side and hearing a "tick/pop" once truck is put into drive from reverse. Dealerships have yet to diagnose the issue/cause?

Pretty quiet at our dealer. Mine is fine, so are many others. Sounds like there is an issue with either the hub assembly or the axle shaft tube where the hub sits on, or with both pieces. Could be a machining issue. Like SMiller said, sounds like you are heading for a new rear axle assembly. I'd keep the dealer on it, and call GM and open a case. I'm sure they can see all the seal failures on it.
