Headlight Illumination Issues

Recommended Posts

I thought mine were awesome but got tired of people flashing me. Took the truck to the dealer. The headlights were aimed high from the factory.

Dealer adjusted them and now I see what everybody has been talking about. That cut off line on the horizon and lack of visibility on the side.

I doubt it the design is the same. IMO these trucks should have HID auto leveling head lamps

Fairly sure no other truck offers that. Maybe top trims but not across the board. LED is the future anyhow.

What Morimoto 5k hid kit did you buy with which harness did you order with it . H11?

I can't remember for certain. On the website they have put together a kit for the sierra now. It comes with everything needed for the job. I got that kit and it works great.

The Sierra kit will be a 9012 bulb kit. Call them. They have real people with English as a first language that answer the phone and will help you order what you need.

not auto level feature but the Toyota tundra does have a dial so in the cab to adjust the lights up and down 5 settings...I had one and that was a nice feature if you had a trailer on to adjust back down

Hey Im coming from a Jeep Wrangler and these lights on my Sierra are far better than that of the Jeep. You want crappy lights, sit behind a wheel of a wrangler at night. I guess its all what your used to.

Agree on the cheap jeep lights. Those suck.

For those also convinced that the 14/15 Sierra headlights indeed SUCK and those who like them, if you're bored go to the NHTSA for your personal enjoyment. lofl

That was fun, and also very re-assuring that I'm not the only one who believes that it's a dangerous situation.

It's also great to see the many comparisons to the last 20 years of GM trucks, which I also have beated to death.

I'm really close to just adding some nice driving lights to the bumper and calling it a day, as my hope for a GM or aftermarket fix is fading. As of today, the 35w Morimoto kit is getting the job done marginally OK for me.

Strange I'd say that the headlights are pretty good in my 14 Silverado, the fogs fill in the area close to the truck and high beam range is good. I run an LED on the front to get better light spread up the road when driving rural roads but unlike my firneds Ram the reach was fine without I just wanted a wider beam to see deer and moose on the side before they ran in front.
