Service 4WD message?

For the past two week I randomly get this message on the dash. No dummy lights or anything just this message when I start the truck. The truck won't switch out of auto either since this started. I tried 2wd nothing and 4H and 4L it's the same thing.

 

I have 8,000 miles on this 2015 Sierra Z71 1500.

 

When I took it to the dealer it didn't happen for them and told me they couldn't do anything about it so they sent me home. I left I wasn't going to argue, I hate that dealership. Maybe I should try a Chevy dealer.

 

Has anyone else had an issue like this?

Does this light mean it is time for maintance or is there a problem?

I had this promblem about a year ago . It happened to me twice . The first time it happened the message went away the next time I started the truck up . I had the dealer check it about a month later when I had it in for a oil change and the code in computer was gone so there was nothing they could do . A few weeks later it came back on again so I took the truck in the next day and this time they were able to get the code. They replaced the transfer case actuator sensor and I havnt had a issue since.

OK that's good to know. I guess next time it happens I will take it to the dealer so they can fix it.

If you have onstar they use to be able read the code also . I think the service message has to be showing on the DIC.

Same thing here. Turned on the first week I had the truck. They had the transfer case sensor replaced.

Can I pull the TREC fuse to disable 4WD and drive with no harm? I'm stuck in 4H and I'm only driving to work but turning is still making me nervous.

What is the average price to get the transfer case actuator sensor ? I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado and it has been giving me that service 4wd for the past 2 weeks. I
