Removing Dirt Lines

Recommended Posts

I recently debadged and demolded my 2001 Silverado and after getting the paint all cleaned up there's a line where the center of the trim ground dirt into the clear coat. I was able to remove all the dirt but the line is still viable. I got some rubbing compound and some polishing compound at advance auto and tried some of the rubbing compound today. I was able to clean up a small one inch section but it took a ton of rubbing and took about 20 minutes. At that rate it'll take forever to get it cleaned up. Anyone have any pointers on how to get this removed? Here is a pic:

Ignore the thin line at the bottom. That's adhesive from the tape edge and will scrub right off.

Clay bar?

The lines are etched into the clear coat from the dirt griding against it. I should have probably worded the thread title a little better. The dirt is actually gone.
