Rant this morning

So I'm pulling into the gas station this morning and notice that as I'm pulling near the pumps there's this older small suv barrelling my way and had I not goosed the throttle he would have t-boned me on the bed of my truck. I'm pumping gas and didn't even realize that he had pulled to the pump adjacent from me.

Once my fill up was done I was getting into my truck and he decides to tell me this: "Just because you drive a truck doesn't give you the right of way you know. I am a veteran who is a former military police officer and had you did that while on base I would have written you a ticket." That last statement set me off. I started my truck, rolled down the window as I was pulling away and told him: "Just because you were a former military police officer doesn't give you the right to be an ***hole." I drove off while he was mouthing something. This guy was a small guy too so not sure if it was a Napoleon complex or what.

I can normally tolerate jerks but when you continue running your mouth and are starting to be a bully I will defend myself.

Don't get me wrong; I support veterans 100%. I won't tolerate insistent jerks mouthing off no matter who that person is.

Yup, some people just can't help themselves in being "right" all the time. The last one that got me was when I pulled up to the gas station downtown in my previous truck and took one of the e85 pumps. This women pulls around and has to wait behind someone else to get to the other side. She proceeds to chew me out about taking up the pump "she wanted" and carried on about how I was driving a truck and wasting gas and blah, blah this and that and I could have used any other open pump. I (in full uniform, Air Force) just patiently waited for her to finish and then told her my truck is also flex fuel and that is what I was pumping...mind you the whole time I was filling my tank with e85 while being "briefed." She just looked down realized how ignorant she just sounded and got back in her car and left.

not sure where he ended up. Got in a lot of trouble.

trucks have their way if it means people annoying you. think big as a tractor trailer, humility goes the same. Can't get angry at other vehicles often that way.

I find people like to back up to the front of my truck to get to another pump. They do not care if you have to move around more yourself to leave.

tailgate being 5 feet up..checking blind spots before getting in is another common chore.

Just came across this thread and reading it made me remember this:

I was delivering pizzas for a while just for some extra cash on top of my regular job. At the time i had to use my Jeep because the transmission on my truck was out. Jeep was lifted and had big tires and all that fun stuff.

But anyway i was parked out front of a customers house and as i was walking back to my Jeep her son or whatever he was and his friend in 2 different cars decided it would be funny to box me in. I got in my Jeep and sat there for a minute to see if one of them was going to move, they just stood there laughing and saying something to each other while looking over at me. So i got tired of waiting and put my Jeep in 4 low and started creeping foward, i got to where my tire was resting against the bumper of the car in front of me before they got scared and backed off. I could have easily drove over his little Honda lol.
