Need pricing advice for 1500 Z71

Hey guys,

The truck I want is a 1500 LS ext cab Z71 with the 4.8 liter v8. My family never bought GM before and I went to the dealer today and saw one for like 31k. The sales person threw and invoice price of 26-27ish at me saying he could give me that price, but I was wondering how much more you guys think I can get that price down. Thanks

the msrp of my truck was a little over 32K.  My final price including taxes, bedliner, bug shield, bed rail caps was $29665.  I think I paid lke 27K.  Mine was bought brand new in 00 (i ordered it)

Go to kelly blue book's website and find out what the retail is and then try to deal the salesman down. I bought mine for 3700 less than the value. Right now trucks are holding their value. Just remenber it all depends what you plan on doing with the truck, what package you need. Always try to get more and heavier than you need. Just in case. I would rather be over powered than under powered. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck

MSRP on my truck was just over 34K. It's the LT w/ every option but quadrasteer and autoride. I bought it new and paid just over 30K for it w/ 0% interest.

If you want the 4.8 try to find 4x4 models, they should be cheaper than the Z71s. The Z71 comes standard with the 5.3

in our 2002 k1500 reg cab short bed we have a 4.8 and its a z71

Maybe Im wrong. All the Z71s on lots here list the 5.3 as standard under the Z71 option. My mistake

I bought a 5.3 2002 Z71 SLT.

 

Stickered $35,700, I got an INCREDIBLE DEAL OF $30K BEFORE rebates. After $3500 trade in, I ended up financing just under $25k.

2002 Z-71 LS trim, 5.3L engine w/ options MSRP $33K and I got it for $27K before rebate.

 

Take no prisoners and walk in knowing what the invoice price will be including all options you want. It will be a little harder to find a Z-71 with a 4.8L because they figure if you are spending the dough for a slick truck you'd want the extra power. 2 pieces of advice: get the locking rear diff; go for the 5.3L as they're easier to find and you'll appreciate the extra torque.

03 Ext Cab, 4x4, Z85, 4.8L...sticker was $31,600 and I got it out the door for $24,500. $3k off sticker, $3k rebate, $750 GM loyalty for my firehawk, and $750 conquest rebate for trading in a dodge stratus and all that before we even started negotiating! Didn't really need the 5.3 and the 4.8 suits our needs just fine!!
