Exhaust leak sound while under load

I've brought the driver's side tick up each time I bring the truck in to the dealer for an oil change.  They always tell me they found no leak, and believe it to be the flapper valve.  I've not tried to pin it back yet though.

Have the same exhaust leak sound coming from driver's side floor area.  Started about 3K miles ago after 26K noise free miles.  Have friends with an exhaust shop so I may take it over to see what they can find.  Have a 6.2 with Magnaflow 12909 and no flapper valve in place of stock.

That is the exact sound I have but it only happens around 1800rpms on incline; but it's that metal rattling sound.

 

What are your truck specs again? Tuned? Not tuned? AFM turned off?

Mine makes the same noise. 17 6.2 with corsa cat back. I don't have a flapper anymore so I know it's not that. AFM shouldn't matter because it's not usually active during acceleration. Mine definitely sounds like it's coming from the driver's side.

2017 6.2.  CAI only, everything else is stock (currently 6800 miles).  No tune or Range.  It's under low, cruising throttle, maybe 1600-2300rpms.  Like you said, just giving light throttle to compensate for an incline.  If I dig in it I don't hear it, but that may just be the engine drowning it out.

My thinking is stuck on it being an exhaust leak.  It didn't start until around 4k miles and has gotten worse, like it is something that loosened over time.  It also gets louder the longer I've been driving, like when the exhaust system gets hot and expands.  Maybe when I can get some free time I'll get some permatex and try sealing every clamp to see what that does.  Frustrating that the dealer keeps telling me that its normal.  Yeah, no.

 

Also, my 2015 5.3 (Range AFM disable, Borla Catback) never had this issue.  Traded in at 28k miles.

Interesting. I have 5.3L.

I found the cure to all the noises...get new speakers, add an amp and turn the volume up on the radio! 

 

Actually I've been trying to track down the noises and I traced  the drivers side "marbles in a can" sound under certain acceleration situations to a loose shield on the drivers side exhaust manifold (that noise appears to differ from the one on startup  in the video I previously posted). The exhaust noise in my case is surely the clamp on the passenger side and drag is I now hear what sounds similar to an exhaust leak but appears to be coming from under the intake somewhere (I cant hear it inside and barely when outside but with the hood open it is easily heard.) To top it off while under the truck I also found there is something already leaking on a truck with only a bit over 8,000 miles.  (hasn't dripped on the ground yet but the front cross member is covered in whatever it is)

How did you identify the heat shield and what was wrong with it?

 

I looked at mine and I can't find any reason it's making that noise.

 

Someone made that mention months ago. I'm interested in how/what you did.

When I opened the hood that was the first thing I saw that seemed like it could be the issue. The engine was still hot so I just "plucked" on it real quick and sure enough it rattled. Weird thing is I just plucked it again with the engine cold and it didn't make the noise.

Which shield is that?

 

Is it the one down underneath near the cat or the one on the exhaust manifold?
