savana/express vans loosing market share

I can really see why they are loosing in the van market we placed an order for a van in october and as of right now we are still waiting for it . our dealer could not get them to accept the order with all the options we wanted from there ordering platform that they order the trucks with on the computer website. Our dealer had there gm rep come down no one could figure it out over here what was wrong on our end except that it would not take an order for what we wanted and have been ordering from gm for decades.

I think being a loyal gm customer and having to wait 22 or more who knows weeks for a truck should be compensated with a little more of a discount on the price of the truck. Now I know some will say there is alot that have the same issue and that is probably true. It is not my fault that gm got rid of plants consolidated and can not produce a truck on a timely basis I was told 6-8 weeks and that is what you would expect . not my fault they had computer and production issues .

Gm lets trucks go for thousands at the end of the year to push out old inventory they have private offers for $1500 off just by catching it right on there web site . and there customer service says all they can do is offer an accessory to me ? I think that they should at least offer what they would if they wanted to let it go at the end of the year or at least offer an extra $2000 dollars off .Don't expect any real help from customer service they can not make any Monetary settlement to you .

Am I wrong for wanting a little more off from GM my dealer really had his hands tied all they can do is order it . It's funny we have a ford dealer that has tons of similar vans is stock maybe we should start looking at them since gm really does not care about it's patrons I did find an email for MS Barra sent her at least 3 emails no response from her If customer service can't do anything then she should being the ceo , sorry for my long rant just getting aggravated

Your post is really hard to read. Sounds like you ordered a van, it is taking too long so you want a big discount? Well, that is not the way it works. Buy out of stock if you want the biggest discount. If you get a better price from another brand, go that route if you are driven by cost.

Let me demonstrate the importance of on simple capital letter can make. Read these two statements. Do they mean the same to you?

I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse.

I helped my Uncle jack off a horse.

See what missing just one capital letter can do to a simple sentence?

Well maybe it's me i don't see the difference in the two they read the same to me .

Point I'm trying to say with GM is that waiting 22 weeks for a truck is not right and why can't they give me or anyone else for that matter an additional discount ? They give off thousands at year end and do the private offer on the web for $1500 . And that web offer I got 2 times while looking for my '15 2500hd and could not use it because they had no stock in that model for at least 200 miles from me that my dealer could find on his GM computer locator and your right i could of gone to ford ,ram or one of the others .

There is no reason to buy a GM van unless you get the deal of the century on one. They are so outdated it isn't even funny. If I needed a van I wouldn't even consider one. Buy a Transit or Sprinter.

i'd rather step in front of an oncoming train then get one of those overpriced German TURDS, but you DO have a point; the GMT600 vans are so hopelessly out of date, the ONLY reason you would buy one is because you exhausted all of the other options out there.

The GM full-size fans are a dinosaur. Iam an electrician and where I work all we have are GM's but the new trnsit and nissians are a much better value. My buddy is in HVAC and has the nissan and for a work van it is very nice. If I had to buy a van it would be a new Ford transit as much as it kills me to say that.

Well I know my dealer is crying for inventory they have none and what dealers do have are pretty poor in what they have for options just a stripped down box . Ford must be doing something right because they I think have a plant that just makes vans , you would think that gm even if they kept the same type of van platform but brought it into the modern times would be able to do business because you still need service vans ,pick ups are ok but nothing beats a van. Maybe some day GM will realize that but downsizing the duramax and decreasing towing and carrying capacity is not a good start if you want diesel power just saying . Maybe GM just needs to hear it more from its customers what they want as for our case getting strung along for weeks is pretty poor days turn into weeks turns into months before you realize it .Maybe GM wants ford to take over there van business ??
