Best exhaust for 6.2

Recommended Posts

Been tossing around the idea of having a muffler installed. I would leave factory piping simply cuz it's stainless. Had an Imco (identical to flow master) put on my last denali. Sounded great! Wondered what you guys have installed, if any. Thanks!!

Do Magnaflow 12909 in place of OE muffler and flapper valve. Any competent exhaust shop should be able to cut out and replace with no issue. Including labor for install mine ran about $155-$160 granted I had a discount coupon from Advance Auto when I ordered. Great sounding at startup and a deeper tone plus minimal drone in V4 mode.

What is the "flapper valve" and did u have the resonators removed too?

I have an MBRP and honestly get nothing but compliments on how my truck sounds....... that said..... I wish the factory tailpipe wasn't such a goof ball design with the flapper and resonator in it as the MBRP 409 tubing will rot off this truck long before the stock system would have even shown corrosion. If it weren't for all the hacking I would have had to do I would have just swapped mufflers...... but by the time you delete that retarded valve and the resonator you may as well buy a kit.

Flapper valve is directly behind OE muffler and is designed to cut down on drone when in V4 mode. I did not have the shop remove the resonator and exhaust sounds fine.

This is me... not being cocky but for the 2014-up gm trucks this sounds amazing. I've since have clamped open my valve. And sound is way better. But invisible helicopter follows me
