Traction control in reverse causes service codes

Recommended Posts

Here is a new one I have encountered. Was backing up a hill with snow on it in two wheel drive and tires started to spin. Traction Control kicked in but the hill was too slippery so I just sat in one spot. While the tires were spinning I thought I would see what happens if I give it more gas. The TC limited the gas and the tires continues to slowly spin. Cool feature I guess but as the tires were spinning the TC suddenly turned off and the tires sped up. The dash gave a service TC error, service trailer brake error, the ABS light came on and the park assist turned itself off. I turned the truck off and restarted it but all the errors were still there until I started driving forwards and then everything returned to normal. I was able to recreate this twice.

Anyone else experience this?

I assume this is by design but in the last 4 months I have had the lumbar heated fail, seat belt latch break, the left seat motor fail, the collision camera in the mirror burnt up and my drivers mirror folding motor fail so I am starting to lose faith in this truck.

Awesome, welcome to the world of 50k junk. With all the electrical issues I have had no doubt you will have fun too. My heated seats are intermittent, wait until your hill assist starts turning on on a flat ground stop, oh yea and wait until when your traction control is on, dry roads, but under 40 degrees the engine power is cut and throttle lag is terrible until you turn off the TC. Displays cut out, back up camera shuts down, radio shuts down, By the way Chevy says its operating as designed.
