94 k1500 99nv4500???

Recommended Posts

Bought a later model NV for my 94 and the clutch master cylinder off a 97. The hydraulic line mates up to the tranny but my bellhousing bolts don't fit my block. If I get the right size bolts, is this going to work? Any other pitfalls to look forward to?

No help, but I'll answer the question for the next poor bastard to do this swap. Yes. You need a 97 (that's the year I went with anyway) clutch master cylinder and line. It doesn't mate up with the early models so you have to fab a bracket to hold it in place but you need the 94 model piston to attach to the pedal. Then bleed and you're good. The tranny I bought had a bad slave cylinder so I pretty much had to do it twice. Oh, and when you replace the line and the slave cylinder, ignore all info claiming that you gravity bleed it. Total bs. Getting clutch pedal was the worst part. Get a vacuum pump. Trust me. Huge headache for synchronized 1st and 2nd gear, but now I have a badass truck. I know the earlier model nv's had a lower 1st gear but screw that. I won't be playing in anything requiring that low a gear ever again.

I just got back on the forum today. I have a 94 K3500 which had a 6.5td. I've installed a '98 5.7 Vortec. The clutch is not engaging. What I'm thinking now is that the input shaft is not even connected to the clutch plate. I don't know WTF has gone wrong yet. Slave cylinder is disconnected, so I know it's not engaging.

Any bright ideas, or smart answers?
