2016 Denali 3500 Trans Leak

Recommended Posts

Bought a 2016 White Denali 3500 in October 2015 (one in the first batch) (D-MAX with Allison Trans)

The truck has been FLAWLESS... minor things like the right mirror LED blinkers are SO DAMN bright at night it's blinding... and my phone will not charge on the wireless charger (the light comes on and 5 seconds shuts off...

whatever i can live with those...

UNTIL this Monday after sitting in the garage for 3 days i pull it out and 2 nice large puddles under the front of the truck... i think water??? but i have not moved it, and no snow (live in Michigan) like ummm... look at it OIL? or TRANS? and yup red trans fluid... get under the truck and it's all over the front of the trans...

only has 3200 miles on it... and i have yet to tow my trailer with it... so i know it has not been pushed at all... i always warm up the Diesel before driving and so I have no idea.. taking to dealer tomorrow.

ALSO going to have them fix the BRAKE pedal recall and any recalls too... since they will have it to find the leak... (never leaked till this Monday)

again minus this it's been perfect...

I will post after i get back solution they came up with and performed to fix the leak.

My 2015 had a transmission leak, my paperwork says - PIE0319 Fluid Leak from Front End of Allison Transmission.

For the wireless charging, it only works on certain phones. If you have an iPhone, then you will need a certain wireless battery pack for it.

The mirror, can't help on that one since my windows are tinted.

Your HD truck fits in the garage? One lucky guy I'll say! Long bed?

So the Dealer called me today... apparently the Torque converter is leaking inside the trans housing. I will get the truck back tomorrow and will post all the details

they also are doing ALL and ANY RECALLS and any firmware upgrades (I asked for them all to be done)

truck fits in garage nooo problem. i have CREW with STD BOX and i have a SUPER DEEP 2.5 car garage..i have about 2 feet in front and 18" behind it with door closed.

on wireless i have a NOTE 5 that supports BOTH wireless charging standards. and like i said it starts but then after 3-5 seconds it stops... not that i care i just use a USB cable. (I'm an IT consultant) I got the tech crap nailed down... just don't know why it goes off... like i said not anything to worry about, if it works great if not don't care... i didn't buy this thing for that... just a perk... i bought it to haul my race car.
