Man, I hate this!

We had my wife's car at a body shop doing some work on it and they removed the front fender flares.

After my wife got the car back, maybe 3 - 4 days later she noticed both front fender flares were separating from the fender.

Now the car is 12 years old and the flares never have separated from the fender before.

Me took a look at it and found when you look between the fender and fender flare, there is at least one hole with no clip in it, and on one side, you can see where they used some type of silicone or plastic glue to hold it, and it was not holding.

Myself could see by the parts fiche that there are supposed to be 10 clips on each side to hold the flare to the fender.

I talked to the guy who did the work and of course he was very nice and said he used all new clips and to bring it back and they will fix it.

I don't know much about body work, but if the vehicle is supposed to use clips to hold the parts together, why do you need glue?

I can't say anything to them because they are supposed to know what they are doing. They were probably trying to save money on buying clips and using glue to hold it hoping no one would know!

I hate when this type of stuff happens.

I guess I can't recommend that place. :nonod:

WHAT!!!!

They have proven otherwise RIGHT?

Was this an insurance claim? Tell the adjuster or agent.

Advice; don't start multiple sentences or paragraphs with the same word, much less "I".

Otherwise, good luck!

Ok, I changed these sentences to Me, myself and I.... :nonod: Just joking around....that's good advice.

As long as they make good on it without a hassle, it's all good. Still would prefer "professionals" get it right the first time ...

Too much of this happens today ...

My truck went to a body shop for insurance-covered repairs, and came back groaning and squeaking over uneven ground, or road surfaces. After some investigating I found the step rail mounts rubbing against the frame. Amazing the amount of noise a little metal-on-metal contact makes. Easy fix on the neighbor's lift (that's gonna be my next purchase here). Also, the left rear window was non-op. Found they didn't push the plug in - was just resting on the contacts, and probably fell out after a short drive. Another simple fix. I didn't bust their balls, because they owned up to an accounting mistake, and personally sent me a check, but I did let them know. That's good business right there - they could've easily kept the money since I slacked, & had no idea.
