UplandPa
Love that my 2015 Sierra Dbl cab was built in the US. Loving it so far! My wife thinks I am in love with it. I hear ya Buddy, if it possible to wax a truck too much I'm going to find out! I love mine too!
oneandzero
I thought the C/Ks were from Canada. Do you Fort Wayne guys have a UAW sticker on the driver's door? GM hasn't assembled a truck in Canada since 2009. My GFX was one of the last built there and I was proud to own it. The Oshawa truck plant BTW was identical to Fort Wayne. My 2013, 2500HD came from Fort Wayne and it never was in the shop, it was a great truck. My current truck was made in Mexico.... worst piece of junk I have ever owned. Only story I can come up with is, when my rear end was replaced the 2nd time the parts had to come from Michigan because the ones from Mexico weren't "Certified". So whats that tell ya. harveyfamily
Makes me glad I didn't get the crew cab now. Wish those were built in the US. I wish GM did factory tours as I'd love to see the factory in Arlington in person.
redwngr
I thought the C/Ks were from Canada. Do you Fort Wayne guys have a UAW sticker on the driver's door? Oshawa doesn't build trucks anymore. There are 3 plants that build pickups. fort wayne, flint and silao
redwngr
I was so bummed that literally every GM truck option out there, Colorado, Silverado 2500, Silverado 1500 Single and Silverado 1500 Double was US built but the only one I wanted, the one that was the best fit for me, the Crew cab was built in Mexico. I do have to say before purchase I went over this truck with a fine piece comb and then went over a Double Cab and could not tell a difference. I like that the engine and tranny in my truck were built in US, but wish the final assembly was there. Still have to say the fit and finish is great and the truck has been flawless for me, so the boys south of the border are obviously doing a good job and being watched closely by quality control. GM builds engines and transmissions in mexico as well. The new 8 speed is built in both silao and toledo. The 6.2's are built in Tonawanda, NY and in St. Catharines, Ontario GM powertrain information guide shows where they are currently building various products and what vehicles they are assembled into. http://gmpowertrain.com/product_guide/R_2016_Information_Guide_010516.pdf
John E.
All, Where can I get another Fort Wayne Assembly Sticker from, A deer ran into my drivers side door and it had to be replaced with a new door. Unfortunately they couldn't save the sticker/decal so I'm in need of a new one to keep her original..
