HondaHawkGT
I love my Fort Wayne built truck so far. The only problem I have is a differential that started screaming with only 30 miles on it. I have to take it in to have it looked at this spring. For now it's in winter storage. :/ The axles are from AAM in Mexico.
UplandPa
Traded my 2014 Sierra Z71 5.3 crew cab, for a 2015 Z71 5.3 Double Cab, with all the same options. Main reason I dropped down to a Double Cab was because it was built in Ft. Wayne. The trucks are basically the same, but IMO the build quality is much better in the Double Cab. I agree 100% with other Double Cab owners-Great Job Ft. Wayne! Love the truck! I can certainly relate to that! My son was animate about where the truck was assembled. When I was looking at different models I would tell him the Vin # and he would tell me where it was made, and that was a big deal for us. Some of the salesmen thought I was crazy...others understood. This is the best truck I've ever owned, bar none!
hirdlej
The axles are from AAM in Mexico. Well, after the ring/pinion get replaced this spring (I only have 600 miles on the truck), it will probably be a good truck
brawls
I've been mainly pleased with my 2014 Silverado built at Fort Wayne, but I really miss my '97 Silverado RCSB that those guys built. That truck was screwed together very well - no rattles or shakes in the 16 years that I owned it, and except for a dead battery in my driveway it NEVER left me stranded anywhere. It was like one of the family, and I am convinced it would have outlived me. Unfortunately it was totaled one day when a crazy driver hit us basically head on at highway speed. While the truck was totaled, thankfully my wife and I walked away with only bruises and scratches.

UsernameAlreadyTaken
I am on my second Ft. Wayne truck. My old '98 was a fantastic truck, even though it was a very plain W/T model. I've had the 2014 for over three months, and still love it as much as the day I found it on the dealer's website and purchased same day. My brother-in-law bought my old truck, and he sent me a message the other day saying how much he is loving driving it now. He prefers it over his much newer Jeep. So, we've both been happy with the Ft. Wayne trucks.
mjoekingz28
I thought the C/Ks were from Canada. Do you Fort Wayne guys have a UAW sticker on the driver's door?

UplandPa
Yep! I make sure to keep the door jam nice and clean and use spray wax over the sticker!

batman900
I didn't realize where my dbl cab came from until after the purchase. Felt like a lucky boy and shes been great for the 3k miles / 4 months of ownership. It still feels like it did off the lot and I've used her for plenty of diy projects and on bad roads daily. I've owned over 20 vehicles and 4 bikes in my 15 years of being old enough to drive. Many of those brand new. This is the first to not feel a bit broken in after a few K miles and shes done way more work than probably all of them combine. None have been perfect including this one, but any complaint is too minor to mention. Thanks fellas!
emeryz28
I was so bummed that literally every GM truck option out there, Colorado, Silverado 2500, Silverado 1500 Single and Silverado 1500 Double was US built but the only one I wanted, the one that was the best fit for me, the Crew cab was built in Mexico. I do have to say before purchase I went over this truck with a fine piece comb and then went over a Double Cab and could not tell a difference. I like that the engine and tranny in my truck were built in US, but wish the final assembly was there. Still have to say the fit and finish is great and the truck has been flawless for me, so the boys south of the border are obviously doing a good job and being watched closely by quality control.
