This is gonna sound weird but, did you try to wipe off the dashboard while the truck was running? The same thing happened to me. I got a car wash and then wiped the dash off at a stop light with the little towel they give you. I found a thread that said the static electricity built up by wiping off the dash zaps a do-hickey(technical term) in the radio that controls the sound. I found a thread that said it would reset after about 10 min of the truck being off. Stopped and grabbed a bite to eat and by the time I came out it was back on.

Same thing happened to me 3 times and they never could figure out what was going on. I did make it to the dealership the second time it happened and they had no explanation as to why, they said they did a "global reset" on the radio and everything started working again. Long story short I ended up getting out of the truck since I had so many other issues with it as well. The dealership made it right and paid off the balance on the 2LT I had and got me in a much nicer 2LZ for not much more than what I originally paid for the 2LT. These trucks just aren't what they used to be I guess. If this one ends up giving me problems too I'm going to a different brand, probably back to Toyota or possibly Ford, don't know. I had a little over 10K on the 2LT and have around 5K on the 2LZ and it seems to be doing fine. I did end up getting a Diablosport I2 and haven't regretted it at all, the transmission tune from the factory is terrible on these trucks. Now its actually a pleasure to drive.

I have a 2017 Chevrolet sliverado LT. My radio quit working all together. Black screen 100% of the time. The only thing that works is the back up camera. I tried scrolling through all the options on the screen between the gauges and It just says "AUDIO OFF". I have tried disconnecting the battery twice. I have checked all the fuses. its been six months now with no radio ughhh.   Any Ideas??

Wait to confirm you’ve been driving around with no radio FOR SIX MONTHS?

It has given him time to reflect on things, and get reconnected with the voices in his head....

This is going to sound weird, but when my radio stops working (no chime or turn signal noise) I know it's time to plug my truck into a battery charger. I have a 3.5 km commute and a 6 yr old battery, so it needs a charge once a week or so and really seem like the radio stops when the battery is low.

Waiting for it to warm up to put a new one in.

I have this same problem it just started a couple weeks ago I have a 2017 Silverado.. but before this happened my screen said “waiting for system update” only the camera worked and I could only control the radio with the steering wheel. I took it to the dealership and paid $165 and they told me it was the HMI module so I got one online for $500 preprogrammed to my VIN. It worked great but now like I said the screen is black and says “audio off “ in the screen between the gauges. Did you get it fixed?? Or find out what was the problem? Let me know I need help
