Bed rail system, cargo management.....

Recommended Posts

Hello all, has anyone looked into bed rail systems for the beds of their truck. I have seen these systems on the Toyotas and they seem really effective. Its quite a system system, but seems to be very versatile, and with some creativity you can mount almost anything. I am considering trying to adapt the Toyota system to my bed, or using similar extruded aluminum channel to make my own. Any info on this?

I had a GM cargo management system in my last truck. I didn't care for it for my uses. Google GM cargo management system. It may be what you need for your uses. I found out I just needed more tie down anchors.

That looks really cool. Did the rails get in the way at all? For example, when loading 4x8 sheets or full loads of leaves? I like the idea, I just dont want to be fighting the things when not in use. The rails look really large based on the video. Is this system still available for newer trucks?

The rails don't get in the way. The system was designed for the GMT900. The K2 uses the same inner bed tub as the GMT900 and therefore the system is the same and even an old one will fit for the same size bed.. I bought my system from ebay for $100. It was just the basic system which only includes the rails and their attaching hardware and 4 tie down anchors. All those other attachments are individual purchases, such as the pipe racks, bicycle rack, tool boxes, bed divider, etc. If you do all those things, the system is great. I don't. So it was limited in value. I just needed tie downs and the GMT900 came with none except the permanently attached ones in the lower corners. So, when I bought my K2, I knew more about what I needed...just more tie down anchors. I bought 9 of them right away.
