Buyer Beware....stay away from these lights!

Hello fellow GM-T members. Been a while since I've been on here so I thought I would share a pocket-book hurting learning here.

I took a quick breeze through and couldn't find a similar topic or pinned item about "blacklist" items. If this is a duplicate or not in the right area, feel free to relocate or delete if I'm breaking some forum rule here by posting this.

I just wanted to pass along some advice to fellow forum members looking to upgrade their stock headlight assemblies....whether for performance improvement or appearance update. In my case, although I felt the OEM headlights and bulbs were pretty decent from the get-go, I was looking to upgrade.

I purchased the attached product off of e-bay and shall leave the seller unnamed. To me, they were the best looking halo/projector combo. Personal preference anyway.

So they arrived before Christmas and I installed them around new years. This past week I started using my truck again as a daily driver in the dark and let me tell you, I was very disappointed. The issue with them is:

- beam angle from projector low beams is pointed much to far down to be useful. they did come with adjustment screw which I quickly cranked up to max but still no where NEAR where it needs to be. managed to strip some component in there as well. Screw is metal but feels like it's turning something plastic inside.

- even where it does light up after the adjustment, it is still pretty weak looking compared to factory

In my other pics, I am attempting to show that it only lights up about 45 ft ahead of me on the road......not even a single tractor-trailer length. In one shot you'll see an SUV ahead of me. The wide angle lense on my phone is deceiving as that vehicle is only about 60 ft ahead of me. That's where the beam literally cuts off. I can't even rely on some stray remaining light beam that WOULD exist with a halogen/standard reflector setup. If there were a piece of 4x4 lumber laying across the highway at 45 feet ahead of me, and I'm travelling at the standard 75 mph where I live (108 ft/second) you can see just how much reaction time I have with these. GARBAGE.

I read a few users a while back had some DEPO headlights that are essentially stock lights (mirror reflectors) but with black bezeling. I think I'm going to give those a try. Anyone else have them? I attached a reference pic of those as well. Thanks!

I worked in the automotive collision industry for 28 years. I wouldn't put a Depo product on a Red Ryder Wagon. You get what you pay for. Poor quality reflectors and lenses, and maybe 5% of the adjusters actually did anything. Capa certification is a joke. Should be spelled with an "r" after the "c" and the second "a" deleted.
