5.3 Injectors Bad

Recommended Posts

This morning I had to have my '15 Silverado towed to the stealership. I had an issue to where when I started it after 3 seconds the engine would bog down and quit. When started, I tried to rev it up and it was rougher than 40 grit sandpaper. First thing the tech asked was if I went and got gas at a certain station as they'd had two vehicles come in with water in the tank, but I hadn't been within 20 miles of that station.

After they looked into it, I was told that 2 injectors and 2 O2 sensors where bad. I just had my 10K service completed two weeks ago and my 1yr anniversary of purchase is in 5 days. I would expect this would be too early for them to go out like that. I didn't ask or think to ask, but should they replace all injectors or will they only replace the 2? I read that they all should be changed if they go out, kind of like changing spark plugs, don't just change out one.

I am hoping that this is the actual issue and they don't have to keep it longer as I have a loaner since they didn't have the parts in stock.

This is a warranty repair. GM will only replace the bare minimum to complete the repair. If you have two bad injectors, you will get two replacement injectors. They will not replace any parts that are still functional. Hope they get it fixed up quickly!
