Why would someone do this!?!?!?

Recommended Posts

Nope, there is no surveillance of that entire area. Police only offer a report number over the phone here. No investigation whatsoever.

I guess there's a silver lining here though ........ a full paint job will basically give the exterior a flawless finish. I'm good with that.

Karma will get them

At least you will most likely have a better paint/clear than factory

Not sure why I said broken ..... Should have read "used". Lol

Probably some damn tree hugger

My buddy and I would have no problem handin out a Texas style ass kickin. You know the saying .... Never mess with a man's hat, woman or truck.

That said, my buddy is 6'5" and around 260. All muscle and scary as hell when he's pissed off.

Yup, the paint will definitely be better than factory, no doubt. It won't look like it has 85K plus miles on it anyway.

Wondering what diminished value will pay out from insurance.

6" lift and new tires are around the corner ....

  • 3 weeks later...

So you got the repaint? How did it turn out?

Perfect.

I work for a body shop, but had a different location shop do the work. I would have been too distracted with the truck being in the same shop I am.

I wet sanded it once and have polished it twice within the last week. The pic in my sig is the most recent. Next weekend I'll post some nicer shots. I'm glad it isn't OEM paint anymore ..... aftermarket is more durable and brilliant in the sunshine.

Ok, so I've had some time to get some pics taken of the new paint (about 3 weeks old) along with the flares that I had our shop paint. These are iPhone pics so apologies ........

Man that truck is nice...can a factory paint be wet sanded or too thin of application from the factory... have water spots on Onyx Black 2015 HD.

Great job by your shop...was the jams done as well?

Factory paint can be wet sanded, however it depends on the age of the paint as to how much can be sanded without going through the clear coat. Domestic paint is really durable whereas Euro is very soft. A factory paint job can either be wet sanded OR have a major compound polishing just once in its life. Anymore than that and the clear coat will fail prematurely.

Wow it came out great man!
