2011 Silverado leveling kit??

Recommended Posts

Not sure if my factory control arms are steel or aluminum

Lower arm, if its white/silver looking its aluminum if its black and a magnet sticks to them its a steel arm. You shouldn't need anything else to put it in.

I used the Bilstein 5100 struts part #24-186940 set to highest setting on my 2010 Silverado 4x4 crew cab to level my truck. I got them as open box from Amazon with all of the parts included still sealed in the factory plastic bags for about 2/3 the price of every other website that I looked at. Looks nice. Rides great. I will change the rear shocks this summer.

I had previously used these same model struts at the highest setting on my 2006 Tacoma 4x4 double cab to level that truck with a helper leaf installed in the rear to raise the back.

For budget leveling spacers, Rough Country and Zone Offroad make good products. Ready Lift is good too, but they're over-priced. The spacers that mount under the strut are easier to install that the ones that mount on top. Some kits (mostly the ones over 2") include spacers above and below the strut, which would be even more work to install. If you're able to spend a little more money, then Bilstein and Rancho both make kits that replace the entire strut assembly and provide enough lift to level the truck. From what I hear, the last two kits I mentioned will yield a much better ride than the spacer kits.
