Repair an out of warranty Snap-On tool

Chris

Recommended Posts

I have a Snap-On die grinder that i bought in 2011. I know it is out of warranty and i messed up something inside while grinding down some fiberglass resin on the boat. I replaced it with a Craftsman right angle die grinder and wanted to give the Snap-On to my little brother since he is a diesel tech now.

I need to get it repaired before i give it to him and he said the Snap-On guy that visits his shop is an unreliable ****. So is there i place i can send it to get it rebuilt or can i send it to Snap-On without using the Snap-On rep for his shop?

You can send them straight to snap on but you will have to talk to them first. Read bullet #2 on this link https://www1.snapon.com/display/termsofsale.nws

You can also have your little brother call snap on and request a different service rep if his current one isn't getting the job done. https://store.snapon.com/CustomerService.aspx

You will more then likely have to pay for the repairs.

I know ill have to pay it since air tools only carry a 2 year warranty. Since i got out of the industry i didnt know how repairs worked with them. I have lost Snap-On tools, bever broke one before.

you can get the parts and repair it yourself...I don't like anyone else working on my tool.

I did take it apart when it was internally bypassing. I probably made it worse

Sometimes having a professional fix your tool is the best way to go.
