Nbobinger's 2015 Silverado Build

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, just joined recently but wanted to start a build thread to keep track of my truck's progress. I bought the truck at the end of Nov, 2015 with 95 miles on it, just at 2,000 miles now. This is a Black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Crew Cab, Cloth seats, Z71 with 5.3 Sports Package with color matched bumpers, 20" chrome wheels, spray in bed liner. I have started some of my mods and have a decent amount of stuff going on in the next week or so. I will list all the current mods with pics, and upcoming mods that I have already purchased and am waiting to come in to install.

Here are pictures from the dealer's website before I purchased it.

Good looking truck . Black Bowtie ? How do you like Westin running broads ?? They look better then GM .

I love the westin running boards, glad I went with them instead of the black GM ones. what makes them even better is I found a guy to trade me for a chrome set I won at an auction, so they actually only cost me $35.

As far as the bow tie, I think I am going to do some black CF 3M carbon fiber vinyl per the existing emblems. I can't mentally justify spend $100 just to change the color of the emblem....

Got my front windows tinted today to match the factory rear tint, turned out well.

Also installed front and rear husky liner mud flaps. I did not use the optional three mount point on the rear that requires drilling at this point. If the double sided tape gives out in the future i will drill it but seems to hold pretty snug as of now.12510437_10106957977638955_8251095169891

  • 2 weeks later...

Got the Blackvue 2-CH dash cam install, big shout-out to The Dash Cam Store for all of their help with setup and trouble shooting the live view setup over the cloud. Very nice feature to have, just wish it had a longer time allowed during each day. Can post pictures of setup if anyone needs to see.

Also just ordered Amp Bed Extender HD from f8l vnm, hopefully that will be here this weekend. Will be a huge help with this 5.8ft bed as I am severely missing my old long bed with the stuff I move around.

Just a heads up! You might want to check in to some type of Paint Protection film for the front of Darth Vader there. I did mine as soon as I took delivery and no dings at all on the front. I really like the all black look on the Chevy's. Would hate to see it turned into a Dalmation! The paint on the front of these trucks in ultra thin!

Yes I have looked into it. Debating on getting the whole front or just the front bumper. Can get just the front bumper for $375 with Xpel

Okay here are pictures of the blackvue dash cam installed and power magic pro. You can hardly see them from the outside if the security LED is not flashing. I have it turned on currently bc i think it would be helpful to deter thieves away from the vehicle at night. Who knows though that might just be me trying to have a positive outlook on it. Mainly have it for save for potential accidents and hit and runs while parked.

Rear camera does well for going through the tinted window, good in day, not anything to brag about at night.

I wasn't planning on doing the hood as I already have the AVS aeroskin hood guard on it

It is definitely worth the cost. The Xpel guy in my area did the entire front of my truck including headlights, fogs and mirrors for $600. Also did the leading edge (about a 6" strip) of my hood but I don't have the stone shield. He also covered my door edges, door handle cups and the threshold on all four doors for no charge because I did the entire front end. Just some bartering info for you! Good luck! I like the all black truck!

I would be all for that, but definitely not available at that price around here
