275/65/20 vs 285/65/20

Looking to put new ko2 tires 275/65/20s or 285/65/20s on my 15 all terrain would there be any issues? Don't think there would be as I have seen the 275/65s on trucks on this site but, I would like to get a little wider tire. Putting a 2.5 RC leveling kit with the rear block, was just wondering if I would run into any issues of rubbing or anything else with the 285/65s? Any and all advice or PICS would be very helpful looking to pull the trigger soon as I'm hating the SRAs. From what I have researched the 275s run 34.1 and 10.2 wide and the 285s run 34.6 and 11.6 wide. Either on stock all terrain wheels

I have 275/65R20 and a 2.5 RC kit with no running forward or reverse. The tires are TerraGrappler G2. The fender liners have been zip tied on each side, but anybody can do that, it's super simple.

This may be a little off topic but why are some guys ok with running tires that they know do not for properly and are too big for their truck? Any amount of rubbing is not good, and can be dangerous.

Why not just buy the correct sized tires or do it the right way and lift the truck to make room for the larger tire size that you would like to run?

This is litte late but for future readers, 2inch level will not work! Regadless what you read. I have 285/65r20 bfg ko2s and 3.5inch lift front and back and the just pass the mudflap maybe 3 mm if that. You need a 4 inch or more to safe with no trimming. I havnt trimmed yet but if your off road you will have to. Its closest at 3/4 cranked. Then full crank you gain more room again. This is for a 20x9 rim with 0 offset. I wass dieing for a week straight wondering if these would fit so hears your guys answers! Cheers!

i have 275/60/20 cooper AT3 on billstein level and only right front at reverse rubs a tiny bit, thats it. I havent zip tied anything.

Good information!  I didn't think this size would rub even without a level.  I was considering 285/70/17 which is very similar in overall size.  I was under the impression that they would fit stock height and have more space with a level!.

I drove for a week with the tires on stock height and no rubbing, unless you reverse on full lock and only right side. Could be just my fender liner.

I know this is late but I’m looking at the same exact tires atm for my 2018 4x2 Silverado with a 2.5 RC leveling kit and rear block. This should fit mine as we with minor rubbing at worst correct??
