Anybody used Safelite to replace a windshield?

Back in the day in MA, glass installers used to get a pile of "sticker covers", which were just a clear sticker that went over your peeled-off inspection sticker onto the new windshield. When you peeled the sticker off, it would say "VOID" in large letters diagonally across the whole sticker, letting the fellas know you swapped stickers with another car, and cheated the state out of their tax money - big fine and 6 year surcharge for that one. The clear sticker said "Windshield Replacement" on the top, with the Massachusetts state seal next to it. I still got hassled a few times even with the "windshield replacement" sticker ... but I was young and mouthy in those days. I think I still have one kicking around here that I peeled off and used on a few cars until it expired. :D

These days MA stickers contain your VIN and plate #'s, so if a cop wants to look closely enough, there's no way to illegally swap stickers without getting busted.

Stupid-assed stickers .... just another tax in a long, LOOOOONG list in this state.

Found one of the newer windshield replacement stickers in my junk stash ...
