Lol^^Borla wants me to send in the old one, but i dont see how they can force me/charge me. Im just happy to get another one to see if it really is the cat back making the noise or something with the truck. Will find out soon.

Just curious if you have received and installed your new system yet. My new one is making the same noise.

I've had mine on since Saturday. I started mine up this morning and heard the exact same noise.......

Wooow, that sucks. Im changing mine out this Friday am(hopefully). I really hope that it was/is a problem with the catback,If not, i have no idea how i will get dealership to even look at whats causing it. Keep me updated on what you do, or pm me if you have any questions.

After you take the current cat back off, try starting it to see if you still hear it. This will help narrow it down and if you have to get the dealer involved, you can tell them that you eliminated the cat back. It will also give you better perspective of where the sound is coming from - its pretty loud. If you have someone start the truck with the key while you are underneath, does it make the sound?

Some time ago, I installed long tube headers, high flow cats and Corsa exhaust on my '04 GTO and after driving around for a while, I noticed a rattle. I found it by removing pieces of the exhaust starting at the back and working forward. Found loose rods in the driver side cat. But that was a distinctive rattle that happened at certain RPMs no matter other conditions. Yours sounds like the "ringing bell" sound of a moving part scraping intermittently. Since you said there is no "flapper", I assume this is NOT the GM Borla and it has no moving parts...even if it was, it doesn't sound like the flapper rattle to me...

Thanks. It has to be an issue with their system. My truck is a month old so I doubt it's a truck issue. It sure is a weird noise.

Well i recommend calling them asap and getting a replacement. They will want a video and receipt/proof of purchase. Soon as they saw my video, the guy didnt hesitate to send me a new one.

Thanks.. I can't find anything touching. You would also think it make the noise all the time if something was touching.. hard to say.. but it's pretty weird that mine is making the same noise at the same time....

Does yours only happen with remote start or when you start with the key too?

They may want it to see what's causing the noise, especially if others are having the same issue.

I saw in another exhaust thread a few guys found their pipes were just barely touching a cross member, made a hell of a racket.just a thought.

this is what mine is doing took me awhile to see it , now just got to figure out how to fix it

I've only tried with the remote one time and it was the same noise. This morning it did it twice, which is the first time that has happened.

Borla said it was a defective muffler.

Ok. Thanks for the update. It just seems like if it is a defective muffler, it would happen on cold starts regardless of whether it was started with the remote or key...standing by for the update when you your the new muffler...
