Dang Boys we got recalled today on our trucks!!!!!! Oh well figures, how you guys like the 8speed so far?

8 Speed likes: good mpg, great gear selection, fast shifts, awesome towing, handles the power well

8 Speed dislikes: When cold, have a VERY noticeable cluncking when shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 during very light (or no) throttle. Especially from a cold stop and heading downhill with no power (like every time I go down my driveway). Moderate to heavy throttle no problems. Dealer said its "normal" and nothing they can do about it. Never had a vehivle do this and I'm disappointed.

My 8 Speed Likes , shifts good under medium too heavy throttle , gas mileage seems good , has a lot of potential .....................

My 8 Speed DisLikes . 1-2 bang in the morning pulling out of my drive way, 1-2 bang under light throttle , 3-4 shudder when warm , 5 second delay when shifting into reverse , If I pull a trailer it takes a 2 days for the trans too act somewhat normal again, driving this thing at 25- 30 around town is getting real annoying with all the clunking and banging going on and the converter locking and unlocking all the time ............

Been in the shop once for a re-learn , didnt help , well it did for about 2 days .........

I have a oil change coming up and have informed the dealer it will sit there till they or GM does something , no its not normal !!!!

It really is too bad cause I really like the truck , its my first GM product after having fords all my life , the grass really isn't greener on the other side !!!!! ..............

5.3. 6spd. 4.10. Auburn Locker. 35s on 22s. Z71 Off-road 4wd

Did you go from 3.42 to 4.10 after you installed the 35's, if so, was it worth the $$, some say I should go 4.56 when I install the 35's

I went from 3.08 to 4.10. And yes it was a big difference. My shift points are a little off when I try and floor it, but that can be fixed with a programmer. Make sure you have a shop that knows what they're doing, I've had nothing but problems from the shop that did mine. I still need to go and have the backlash(I think that's why it's called) readjusted because I have a BAD vibration around 90mph. Even though they've rebalanced my driveshaft..
