Re-gear for 33" tires - What Ratio would you choose?

Recommended Posts

I would see how it drives with the 3.08s first, a 33 is barley taller then a stock 265. But if you do swap, definitely 4.10s, 4.56 is a little aggressive for a stock height truck on 33's

Just out of curiosity, why would you choose the 4.10 over the 3.73? I am about to get 33s and I have 3.08's with the 5.3. Thanks in advance.

Makes sense. What gears would you recomend if i plan on only running 33's. 3.73 or 4.10? Also how much would MPG's suffer from re- gearing? Thanks

How much towing are you doing? I will be towing a bit once i upgrade and also going 35s and a blower so gearing will help.

If you are not going to do much i would say 3.73s to also have that hwy mileage. But if you do more city i would go 4.10s.

If you are going with a blower then there is no real need to regear. I have 3.43's with a blower and unless you want to kill your top end there is no need to change them out.

Personally I'd go with 3.73's. Before I added the blower I was planning on 4.10's with 35's

Im not looking for a 1/4mile drag truck i just want a strong takeoff to scare the crap out of sports cars.

Mostly want the 4.10s for the 35s and the towing that ill be doing..... Its bot going to be much but i like to buy cheap cars here up north and tow them down to South texas and flip them for a profit. I will do the trek once every 3-4 month ls or so.

With my set up I have beat several 6.2's off the line with ease and I'm running 3.43's. If you are going to just regear with bigger tires and not do any thing else then I'd go with 4.56's. My 2door blazer is a stock 350 with 35" tires and 4.56 gears and she's a beast.

Not yet. All i have is an Airaid CAI.i have acess back home to very talented tuners that have LS world records in trucks ao im in good hands when i get home. Unfortunately i will not be able to compare just the tune its self as the truck is going in for the full treatment of head work, ARH headers, 4.10s all around, custom exhaust.... And if all goes well a whipple

I'm about 40 miles from waco tx

I'm looking for a good tune

Where would you recommend

Dont have any experience with any tuning shop that far north. Closest i have had experience with would be Nelsons Performance out of San Antonio

Check out BlackBearPerformance.com and see if they are going to be in your area any time soon.

You'll love the blower but hate the gas mileage. If you get the blower what gear ratio are you considering?
