anyone buy a 2500HD using the gm supplier plan?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of you guys have bought a new truck on the gm supplier plan.  Just curious what you paid.  I know it is 4% above what a gm employee gets

Thanks

I am just about to.  I have a quote for a MSRP of $42K, GMS $37K.  I also got a quote for an H2 that was MSRP $56K down to $49K GMS.  I think that they also can't charge some of the hidden fees like advertising...whatever that is.

My next step is to find out what the difference between Invoice and GMS is.  I thought I read on this forum that some people we getting invoice or $500 over, which is probably less than GMS.

Here is an example for you right off an invoice to a truck I was looking at buying a before I got my HD.

2002 Silverado K1500 Z71, LM7, M30 with no auto-crap push button fangled thingies

MSRP: 31401.00

GMS: 26606.57

Supplier: 27670.83

The supplier amount is printed right on the actual invoice and you are entitled to ask to see it once you prove to them that you are employed by a qualified supplier.  Some tiers of suppliers are not part of the supplier purchase program.

Thanks Larry.  That example looks just like my 2000 did except the msrp was slightly higher

I think the supplier deal came out to be like 27500K or somewhere there

$42K   What kinda options did it have (dmax?)

Ones i am looking at are 36K msrp max

My buddy bought an 03 GMC 3500 D/A combo quad cab 4x4 SLT with every possible option including the DVD/LCD screen for rear passengers.

I know his sticker price was around $45k.     But he did not pay anywhere near that....he's been buying trucks from this dealership for 10 years now for his business.

If I remember I think my '01 HD stickered close to $38K and I paid around $32-$33K with GMSP.

I think that GMS is usually around the invoice price...  sometimes a little more, and sometimes a little less.

$42K was for an 8.1 2500HD LT, Allison tranny. (ad about $5K for the Duramax) with everything except DVD player.  Configured it on gmbuypower and dealer confirmed when they ran the config on their end.  Then they quoted the GMS price.  $5K off MSRP plus current incentives is a pretty good deal any way you look at it.

I bought a '02 2500HD 4x4 extended cab w/ 8.1, Allison, SLE, LWB last October for $32,658 using the GM supplier discount.  I think that included an extra $100 or so for skid plates, which should have been standard on a 4x4.  I also had to pay a $99 file fee at the dealership, which I still don't understand.  Easiest vehicle I ever bought.  No haggling.  They show you the invoice and it has the GM supplier discount price on it.  You are also still entitled to whatever promotions are available at the time. I got $500 factory cash back, $500 on a gas tank certificate, and 0% financing (including sales tax).  I would recommend this program to anyone who can qualify for it.  I love my truck, which is still stock.

I also bought my DMAX last fall using the supplier discount.  The dealer will show you the invoice, and that is what you pay - no haggling etc.  I was done in about 50 minutes from the time I arrived at the dealer.  Keep in mind this is voluntary on the part of the dealer.  Transwest GMC in Denver would not do a supplier discount on a DMAX.  So I took my business down the road to Suss GMC, who had a truck that met my search criteria.

I just bought a 03  2500 HD Crew cab D/A all the toys

except leather and DVD. MSRP @ $45,388

Paid $ 35,000  for it and that was without any supplier or

employee discount. Bought it at Freedom Chevy in

Monroe, NC. They're willing to deal a little there.
