Denali HD headlight flicker

Recommended Posts

I need a little help. I bought a 2016 Denali hd 3500 with plow prep. I had a western plow professionally installed and now when I unlock my doors or turn on my headlights they flicker for about 30 seconds. The 2016 models have hid headlights factory and everything was suppose to be professionally installed. Can anyone help. Thanks in advance and I hope I posted this in the correct spot? By the way I am a die hard ford owner for heavy duty trucks and the fords do not hold a candle to this GMC! Switched all my vehicles to gmc products!

Hmmm didn't know they were running HID in the Sierra HD. Checked the order guide and sure enough they do! (Silverado HD still runs halogens...darn...) end rant lol...

Sounds like you should have your plow installer take a look see at it. Sounds like something isn't right with the plow wiring and the factory headlight wiring and there is some sort of isse that the headlamp modules are not liking.

Actually maybe even the dealer as they could maybe get GM involved and see if there is anything special to fix the issue.

No the 2016 comes with projectors and hid bulbs. Sorry correction. Anyway my lights are super fricken bright. So I figured out the problem so if this happens to anyone else. Western plow put out a service bulletin on the new 2016 Denali hd Thursday that states with hid bulbs that you have to have not only the standard headlight kit part number 29070-1 but also part # 72101. To eliminate flickering. Just an FYI.

This deserves a sticky in this thread or in the HD section. Valuable piece of info right there!
