What all terrain tires for my 2015 sierra 4x4 22" sye wheels

Recommended Posts

Title pretty much says all.. really just getting the all terrains for looks, but my #1 concern is the humming and ride quality.. Ive ridden in some pretty rough trucks and dont want me truck driving like that..

Ive heard BFGoodrich is the way to go when it comes to aggressive looking tires that dont humm on the highway????

Just put Hankook Dynapro ATm's on my truck today. I wanted something aggressive looking but not crazy aggressive like the Duratracs. Noise doesn't seem any different than the worn out Goodyears they replaced. I'm really happy with the looks too. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow if your interested, but they're only 17's not nearly as low profile as yours will be. BTW, Damn nice looking truck you got there!

Im running a 285/50-22 nitto g2 terra grappler setup on my 2" level. Measures out to a lil over 33" total. Can't complain about a thing can't complain about a thing.. noise is minimal but almost the same as the street tires i had. Ride is a tad stiffer but the wider footprint makes me feel its definitely worth the trade off. Traction is exceptional. No abonormal hum at hwy speeds. Nothing but good things to say about these tires. I went with a larger overall size, as i hated the fendergap after my level. Much tighter now and looks proper now imo. See my gallery for more pics.

I'm partial to the SEY's myself. Running a 285/45/22 terra grappler G2. They are very quiet for what they are and the ride is acceptable to me. I'm very critical of crappy tires and I have zero complains and agree with all that was posted above about the G2's. when they wear out I may try to go 305, I went 285/45 because of the factory tire height and did not want to be forced to have it tuned to calibrate the speedo, plus I read that GM stated they might have drive train warranty issues with a non factory size wheels. Just erring on the side of caution. personal opinion is they are prob. the best looking factory wheel for a truck/SUV. White looks awesome, I thought about that color but went ocean blue..

I am biased towards the BFG's but they are very quiet compared to other all terrain tires. At highway speeds they are smooth and quiet. driving on a smooth blacktop road between 40-50 mph is when they are the loudest in my opinion but even then they are still not loud, relatively speaking. The BFG's are the only tire I run on my truck and highly recommend them, even though you say they are for looks, which I think they look the best, but they also perform very well in the mud.

Unfortunately I dont think BFG makes a 22" all terrain :(

thanks for all of the posts guys!

Yeah, there are not too many players in the 22" all terrain game. I am a fan of BFG's and they were not an option in this size. Otherwise I would have run KO 2's. But the Nitto's came recommended over bridgestones, and so far I like them a lot.

In all terrain for a 22" wheel, there are basically 2 choices... Nitto terra graps, and Hankook ATMs. As i said above, i love my nittos, but are the pricier of the 2. But i do hear great things about the hankooks tho and came real close to buying those instead. There are a few other brands like (arturo, etc) but didnt hear great things about these. Mainly balancing issues. You get a few more brand options if u step up to a 35" tire (toyo), but then you are doing more serious suspension work to get those to fit
